The Voice of Kindness began with a simple but urgent mission:

The Voice of Kindness was created to help bring Hope, Help, and Healing to those facing emotional pain, mental health struggles, and crisis. Through the Think 3-2-1 workshop and the BE KIND Model, we equip everyday people with practical, compassionate tools to recognize crisis, respond with care, and guide others toward safety and support.

Rooted in Scripture and grounded in real-life application, our training is learner-centered, scenario-driven, and designed for homes, churches, schools, workplaces, and communities.

We believe Kindness is not weakness—it is the powerful expression of God’s grace and compassion in action.

Inspired by Isaiah 42:3, “He will not break a bruised reed, and He will not put out a smoldering wick,”

The Voice of Kindness seeks to normalize conversations around mental health and suicide ideation while breaking down stigma through Christ-centered care.

Our mission is simple: Empower people to become part of the “Comfort Chain” offering hope in moments of crisis and helping others move toward healing and restoration.

The Apostle Paul described this beautifully: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
2 Corinthians 1:3–5.

Life is sacred.

  • The Voice of Kindness is a crisis intervention curriculum that helps individuals recognize paths toward well-being. In a culture marked by relational poverty, the church can offer healing through connection, spiritual support, and practical kindness. By reducing stigma and opening honest dialogue, this curriculum equips people to respond God’s way and help guide those in crisis toward safety and hope.

  • Dolores ‘Gavi’ Gaviola-Feck, EdD is a published author and earned her Doctorate in Education from Northcentral University in 2016. Dr. Gavi brings over 45 years of distinguished and diverse service with the Air Force. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, with 30 years of military service and 15 years of Air Force civilian service.

In addition to her military and federal career, Dr. Gavi has devoted more than a decade to serving as a volunteer chaplain. She is certified through the International Fellowship of Chaplains (IFOC) and has deployed with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BGRRT) to support communities affected by natural disasters. She has also served as a Suicide Prevention Facilitator and a Master Resiliency Trainer for the Air Force at Kirtland Air Force Base. She is a committee member to support the New Mexico Governor's Challenge to prevent suicide among service members, veterans, and their families.

For the past five years, Dr. Gavi has focused her efforts on partnering with churches and her community to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicidal ideation. She developed the Voice of Kindness, a biblically grounded crisis intervention strategy designed to train anyone to become a crisis interventionist through kindness.  Crisis intervention as kindness has a way to de-escalate someone in crisis to a place of safety. This approach is structured around the "Think 3-2-1" framework and the "BE KIND" model. The 5-part series Voice of Kindness is a curriculum developed to emphasize clarity, connection, care with the opportunity to bring hope, help, and healing to a person in crisis.
